Cytek Biosciences and Bio-Rad partner to enhance reagent offerings

Cytek Biosciences partners with Bio-Rad to broaden reagent portfolios for advanced flow cytometry applications, benefiting research in immuno-oncology.

By Metastat Insights News Desk

Cytek Biosciences has formed a strategic partnership with Bio-Rad Laboratories to enhance reagent offerings for high-parameter applications within the global flow cytometry market. This collaboration aims to support researchers in immuno-oncology and immunotherapy by providing advanced reagents that improve the outcomes of experimental work.

Under the new agreement, Cytek will incorporate Bio-Rad's innovative StarBright™ Dyes, recognized for their bright and stable properties. These dyes provide improved resolution in distinguishing specific cell populations, empowering researchers to create more intricate high-parameter panels. This enhancement supports the capabilities of Cytek’s Aurora and Northern Lights™ systems, widely utilized in over 1,500 instruments across more than 40 countries.

Plans include the optimization and commercialization of new reagent products that integrate StarBright Dyes into single vial reagents and multicolor panels. By streamlining workflows for researchers, this initiative aims to increase efficiency during multiparameter experiments without the complications of labor-intensive and costly panel design. The incorporation of StarBright Dyes into Cytek’s proprietary cFluor® family expands the available color options for multiplexed panel designs, leading to new opportunities for data analysis.

Bio-Rad’s StarBright Dye conjugates are designed to work seamlessly with Cytek’s immunoprofiling assays, which are structured to simplify the research process through ready-to-use, pre-optimized panels. This collaboration represents a notable advancement in the cell analysis field, merging Cytek’s Full Spectrum Profiling™ (FSP™) technology with Bio-Rad’s advanced dye chemistry.

The global flow cytometry market is experiencing notable growth, driven by the increasing demand for advanced analytical tools in clinical and research applications. According to the Global Flow Cytometry Market report, the sector is expected to continue expanding through 2026, fueled by innovations in reagents and instruments. The partnership between Cytek and Bio-Rad will significantly contribute to this growth by enhancing reagent options, ultimately addressing the evolving needs of researchers and clinicians.

As advancements in flow cytometry continue, the emphasis on high-performance reagents remains crucial. Researchers will seek solutions that provide enhanced capabilities for high-parameter analysis, leading to further collaboration and innovation in the industry. Continuous monitoring of developments from this partnership will be essential for assessing future trends in the flow cytometry market.
