Ferrotec begins construction of second manufacturing facility in Malaysia
Ferrotec Holdings Corporation has started construction on its second high-tech facility in Kulim, Kedah, with a RM1 billion investment, enhancing its role in the semiconductor industry.
Kedah, 22 April 2025 – Ferrotec Holdings Corporation has officially begun construction on its second high-technology manufacturing facility in Kulim, Kedah, with a substantial investment of RM1 billion (approximately USD 226 million). This development highlights the company's ongoing commitment to the Malaysian market and emphasizes Malaysia's significant role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
The new facility is projected to be completed within a year and aims to enhance Ferrotec's operational capabilities in Southeast Asia. By establishing this plant, the company anticipates improving delivery times, customer service, and innovation for markets across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. This investment brings Ferrotec's total commitment in Malaysia to RM1.9 billion.
Covering close to 1 million square feet on 20 acres, the new facility will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies. It will include over 700 CNC machines, intelligent production lines, and IoT-enabled systems aligned with Industry 4.0 principles, emphasizing predictive maintenance capabilities. The project is set to generate more than 1,000 high-value jobs, significantly boosting Ferrotec's precision manufacturing capacity for semiconductor components.
